Mason Turner
Taylor Glockner As Mason Turner
Charming, charismatic and self-assured, Mason is a natural people person.
Mason is impulsive and easily influenced. He often acts before thinking and this has caused some serious consequences in the past. Mason’s alliance with bad boy Robbo set him down a path of juvenile crime for which he paid the price of six months in juvie.
At the heart of it all, Mason’s a good person who does the wrong things for the right reasons.
Matt has always been hard on his eldest son, Mason, and has high expectations of him.
Mason is desperate for his father’s approval and is constantly frustrated when his actions bring about Matt’s disappointment instead. And unlike everyone else who orbits Mason’s universe, Matt can’t be charmed.
Deep down Mason feels his relationship with his father changed forever the night that Matt arrested him for a robbery in Mount Isa and allowed Bailey to walk free… an event which altered the course of the entire family.
While he’s mostly upbeat and light-hearted, Mason’s determined, ambitious and not used to being knocked back – especially when it comes to the ladies.
After arriving in Erinsborough and setting his sights on Kate, he was surprised when she gave him the cold shoulder. But his persistence paid off and allowed Mason to display some surprising romantic tendencies.
Mason takes pride in his appearance and is into keeping fit.
Lauren Turner
Kate Kendal As Lauren Turner
Lauren’s family life in Mt Isa was turned upside down when her eldest son Mason was sent to juvie for a local robbery. Fiercely protective of her son, she felt helpless knowing she couldn’t do anything to help him. Her family were spinning out of control and they still are – she hasn’t quite worked out how to get them back on track, but she’s trying. The move to Erinsborough is just what they needed. Furthermore, the move has given her the chance to reconnect with her father, Lou. They share a warm relationship, but deep down, Lauren has always felt a little guilty that she has spent more of her adult life with her mother than with her father.
Lauren is generally a happy person with a great sense of humour. She’s down to earth, values honesty and can’t stand injustice. She has no problem speaking out when she feels she needs to.
Lauren’s never been overly ambitious, choosing instead to prioritise her maternal role. She’s happiest when she’s surrounded by family and friends, and loves horses and the great outdoors – so much so that she used to own a horse riding school in Mt Isa. Although she seems content, she harbours unfulfilled dreams of being an artist.

Bailey Turner
Calen Mackenzie As Bailey Turner
Cheeky, left-of-centre and inquisitive, Bailey Turner is one switched on teen. A self described nerd, Bailey loves flexing his brain muscles and has a unique take on everything. Never lost for a comeback, he has the gift of the gab in spades. Enthusiastic about his studies and the thrill of good marks, Bailey always applies himself academically. He’s into astronomy and physiology – he loves understanding how things work. Bailey loves his family and often takes on the role of peacemaker. He was forced to do some growing up when he got caught up in situation, which will have a profound impact on every member of the Turner family.
Amber Turner
Jenna Rosenow As Amber Turner
Friendly, vibrant and a touch naïve, Amber’s on the cusp of adulthood – and dealing with the many life changes that come with it. If you’d met Amber a year ago, you would’ve found a girl devoted to her friends, family and her horse, Mr. Sunshine. But Amber’s priorities changed when she began a relationship with the local bad boy of Mount Isa, Robbo. When Robbo came to Erinsborough he blackmailed her brother Mason into an attempted robbery, and then secretly taped an intimate moment with Amber, later using it to blackmail her. Despite the pain Robbo caused Amber, she is still reeling from the loss, and consequently, she treads cautiously in her new relationship with Joshua Willis, the boy across the road. Inheriting her mum Lauren’s love of horses, the pair have always been close. And while her dad, Matt, is the disciplinarian, Amber knows she’s the apple of his eye… and she knows how to work him when required.
Amber has a close relationship with her brothers Mason and Bailey. They stir each other mercilessly and their practical jokes are legendary, but at the end of the day, she’d do anything for them, and they would do the same in return. Amber has to work hard to keep up at school. Like her mother Lauren, she has a great eye and is a talented artist who has recently turned her interests to photography. Amber’s not materialistic or particularly interested in pop culture. Due to her country upbringing she’s not afraid to get her hands dirty and is more tomboy than princess –with a country - chic style of her own that turns heads wherever she goes.
Matt Turner
Josef Brown As Matt Turner
Matt is a hard working country cop with traditional values. He is a straight shooter who doesn’t mince words or suffer fools. There is a stubborn streak which riles his wife Lauren in particular and clashes with his eldest son Mason.
Matt can sometimes rule the house a little like it’s a police station, believing it will serve the kids better in the long run. But he also has a soft side. The kids know how to choose their moments with him. There’s nothing he wouldn’t do for his family. He tends to see the world in black and white terms, with little in between. But he is also a lot of fun to be around, and the life of a neighbourhood barbecue.
Josef Brown
Shortly before joining the cast of Neighbours in October 2012, Josef played Charlie Redding in the Gordon Frost Organisation world premiere Australian season of An Officer and a Gentleman, appeared as Dale on Home and Away, was Choreographer on the musical Every Single Saturday and was writer/producer on the seven-part webisode series, At The Fork.

Sonya Mitchell
Eve Morey As Sonya Rebecchi
Sonya’s bright and bubbly persona disguises a dark past and a driving desire for redemption. A former addict, Sonya feels a personal mission to make up for her past mistakes and to help others who are battling similar demons. During her dark period, Sonya gave birth to Callum.
After being bounced around from an aunty to his grandparents, Callum was adopted by Toadie. When Sonya came into their lives she harboured the secret that Callum was her biological child until forced to reveal it when Callum’s life was endangered. It was a long time before Toadie felt he could trust Sonya again but love eventually triumphed and her family provides her a constant reminder of how far she’s come.
Material possessions have never been very important to Sonya. She doesn’t care about big houses or flashy cars, and people who do seem shallow to her. A devout animal lover, Sonya is a vegetarian who also cares deeply about the environment. She is a member of Greenpeace and an avid bike rider who enjoys the fact that it’s a carbon neutral way of getting around.
Sonya’s passionate about her beliefs and although not a confrontational person by nature, is not afraid to stand up for herself and her loved ones. She’s fiercely loyal and values that quality others.
Despite what her warm and open persona would suggest, Sonya is quite a private person and not very comfortable with discussing her past. She’s open-minded and withholds judgement about people until she gets to know them, always remembering that others have sometimes not afforded her the same courtesy.
Overcoming Toadie’s fertility issues, Sonya and Toadie recently welcomed gorgeous baby Nell to their family.
Eve Morey
It was the prompting of Eve Morey’s Year 9 drama teacher to attend an audition that resulted in her first television role and the beginning of her acting career.
“My teacher thought it would be a great experience just to audition so I had no expectations so when I got the role, it was a turning point for me,” said Eve.
Eve spent two years filming the children’s series Pigs Breakfast at Channel Nine in Melbourne and was later accepted into NIDA in 2000 when she completed high school. The Melbourne born actor went onto to perform in a number of theatre productions for Sydney Theatre Company and the Melbourne Theatre Company, as well as television roles in Home & Away and All Saints.
Eve joined the cast of Neighbours in June 2008 as Sonya Mitchell (Sonya Rebbechi), a guide dog puppy trainer who quickly finds romance with Ramsay Street favourite Toadfish played by Ryan Moloney.
As a creative outlet, Eve enjoys framing pictures and objects which are highly sought after by family and friends. She is also a keen traveler and would love pursue theatre in the future.

Susan Kennedy
Jackie Woodburne As Susan Kennedy
A highly respected maternal figure, Susan is a woman of honour and integrity. The long-suffering wife of Karl, she has weathered the storms of her marriage with the utmost grace. Susan is mother to Libby, Mal and Billy but has also been a surrogate mum of sorts to many other children over the years, notably Jarrod Rebecchi with whom she still shares a close relationship.
Susan is devoted to her family and friends and is fearless when it comes to protecting them. She is intelligent and enjoys the arts: literature, music, theatre and film. She derives deep satisfaction from helping others realize their potential. Susan’s high standards and self-discipline can make her seem self-righteous and although well meaning, she runs the risk of alienating those she preaches to. Susan is outwardly conservative, though when she’s comfortable, she can be very witty, often risqué. There is a sense in both her style and behaviour that she’s holding something of herself back. This could be because her desire to be a model citizen takes precedence. However virtue can lose its lustre as you grow older and begin to consider your own mortality.
Not all of Susan’s family relationships have been as straightforward. While in Africa with Brett Stark, Susan confessed that she had helped her own mother to die. She has also struggled with a troubled niece, Elly, and a devious nephew, Darcy. And of course there’s her ex husband Karl.
Karl had been honest about his potential for infidelity when he fell for a terminally ill patient shortly after the move to Ramsay Street but it was his kiss with sexy receptionist Sarah Beaumont that really jeopardised the Kennedy marriage. Susan found out months later from her son Billy. She slapped Karl and threw him out. After counselling they managed to resolve a lot of their issues but things were never quite the same.

Susan found out months later from her son Billy. She slapped Karl and threw him out. After counselling they managed to resolve a lot of their issues but things were never quite the same.
Slipping on some spilt milk and waking up with retrograde amnesia could have been the perfect opportunity to start again. Believing that it was 1972 and she was still 16, Susan remembered nothing of the last thirty years. However, the process of recapturing her memory meant that she had to process Karl’s betrayal all over again and this time she asked for a divorce. The tragedy of Drew’s death brought them back together and half-way through the renewal of their vows, Susan’s memory came flooding back.
Their relationship broke down again when Karl developed a drinking problem. During a trial separation, Karl started seeing Isabelle Hoyland who convinced him he was the father of her unborn baby. Susan and Izzy hated each other and Susan and Karl only just managed to keep their divorce amicable. It was Susan that later found out Izzy had lied about the paternity of her baby and forced her to come clean. Despite everything, Karl and Susan have always had a special place in each other’s hearts.
However Karl wasn’t the only one to move on after their divorce. Saucy Susan managed to tempt Father Tom Scully away from the priesthood and had an outrageous fling with Max Hoyland’s dad Bobby. She fell in love again when she met Alex Kinski, blissfully unaware that he was about to be diagnosed with cancer. They married quickly when Alex’s health deteriorated but he died shortly afterwards. She initially battled Alex’s estranged daughter Katya over custody of her new step-children but all three Kinski kids eventually moved in to No. 28. However, when Susan secretly rekindled her relationship with Karl, the harmony was shattered. Devoted to the memory of their late father, Rachel in particular reacted badly.
Susan was stunned and delighted when, on holiday in the UK, Karl proposed atop the London Eye. Little did she realise that there were two more surprises in store: a spontaneous ceremony on the Thames organised by romantic Karl… and the arrival of a heavily pregnant Izzy Hoyland. Although Izzy had assured Susan that Karl was not the father of her baby, Susan overheard Izzy discussing her intention to keep the secret to herself with her new partner Pete. Torn, Susan eventually told Karl the truth.
With her marriage finally back on track, Susan then faced her biggest challenge yet. Feeling unusually tired but desperate to get to an important meeting with Rachel, Susan fell asleep at the wheel of her car. Unbeknownst to her she hit Bridget Parker who was left unable to walk unaided. At the resultant hit and run trial Susan was determined to plead guilty, desperate to be punished for her mistake and to heal the rift between her family and their good friends the Parkers.
Thanks to Toadie she received a suspended sentence and avoided prison. However, there was more bad news when the source of Susan’s tiredness was revealed. Although doctors initially assumed she was simply menopausal, a series of blackouts, followed by numbness in her hands and a terrifying attack of blindness led them to diagnose her with Multiple Sclerosis.
Jackie Woodburne
Since joining Neighbours in 1994, Jackie Woodburne's character has changed her surname three times.
"I started as a Smith, then Kennedy, changed to Kinski, back to Kennedy and as Karl and Susan have separated again, watch this space," joked Jackie.
When Jackie was offered the role as the no-nonsense school teacher, Susan Smith in 1994, she never dreamed her residency would in sustain 18 years, making her the longest running female character on an Australian series.
"It certainly wasn't a title I aspired to have but it has happened because I absolutely love what I do. It's a great cast and I adore working with Alan Fletcher (plays Karl Kennedy), plus we've been blessed with terrific kids on the show."
Born in Norther Ireland and emigrating to Australia as a child, Jackie is a graduate of the National Theatre in Melbourne. During her celebrated career she has appeared in many televison series including Prisoner, Cop Shop, Sons and Daughters, Young Doctors, A Country Practice, The Flying Doctors and Law of The Land to name a few.
Jackie lives in Melbourne and since her character was diagnosed with MS, has become an ambassador for the MS Society to help raise awareness of this debilitating disease.
"It's imperative that the MS storyline is handled as truthfully, ethically and sensitively as possible, and I hope we've been able to break down some barriers," said Jackie.
The coveted Inside Soap Awards in the UK have nominated Jackie for best daytime star for two years running.
